In almost every region of Ghana, girls lag behind their male counterpart in both school enrolment and literacy rates. In 2010, there were over 80,000 girls between the ages of 10 - 19 with no literacy skills in the northern region alone. This is because girls face not only social and cultural barriers but most especially economic barriers.
Costs like uniforms and text books keep girls away from school.
Therefore, we are seeking for funds to provide uniforms, sanitary pads, text books to improve effective learning for girls as they work to achieve their full potential.
